There is always a very serene feeling that I have when I leave a church service. And it does carry over for most of the day. I absolutely love singing in the choir. It is a very small choir, because itโs a very small church in our very small town. I think the most we ever have up there is between 12 and 20. But itโs OK, because I love it! And this is coolโฆ A lot of people told us how much they have missed us since weโve been gone these past three weeks. There is a man named Bill who used to sit with Gary and his friends before we started going to that church. He got to know us, and now he sits up in the second row with us every week! Itโs the sweetest thing! He is 84 I think. He is such a sweet old man. When he first saw us today, his face lit up and he came towards us with the biggest smile. He gave me a hug and said that from now on, we are not allowed to leave for any more than three days at a time, because he misses us! He told Scott he is not going to โrenew our visaโ for our travel in the future! Lol! Another lady who sings in choir told me that she missed my hugs. And, another great thing is that another lady that I am friends with told me that she can tell that I have lost a lot of weight. That makes me feel really good! I have lost about 17 pounds so far. When somebody notices and says something, itโs like fuel to keep going, you know?
We went to the grocery store after church to pick up just a few things. And then we came home and got changed into our ranch clothing and went out to check on our new cow. She seems a lot calmer now. She has eaten some of the hay, and she drank most of her water. So after observing her for a while, we decided to let the rest of the herd come into the corral and mingle with her. So Scott got on the side-by-side and drove over to where the herd was on the other pasture by the pond and he drove back over. They always follow the side-by-side, because they know that we usually have feed for them in the back of it. So we opened up the corral gate and let four cows go in. They went straight to the trough and started eating the treats. The new cow didnโt seem at all bothered by them, and they pretty much ignored her too. And then we opened the gate and let the rest of them go in. They were all interested only in eating the treats in the trough and the hay that we had put there for the new cow. A couple of the cows went over to the new one and she pretty much moved away from them. And then when they were done eating, they started to exit the corral. She left as well and walked over and started grazing by the pond. And then she walked across the dam and went into the far pasture. None of the other cows followed her. I hope that when they move to a different place, she will go with them. But we will see. She has to explore her new home, we know that.
When we were done with that, Scott set out to continue mowing the pastures and I tended to the chicken coop as usual. I had to take Charlie out of her box again and put her outside. She immediately started eating the feed that I had sprinkled on the ground yesterday. All the other chickens are looking just fine.
So about that preen glandโฆ I had taken a picture of it and showed my Gemini and it said that it doesnโt look like itโs clogged at all and that it looks really good. But I want to know if there is a way I can tell if that gland is still releasing oil. Can you help me with that?
