๐ A Mid-Week Reflection on the Garden and the Grace of Growth
โ๏ธ Good morning, my dear friend, and what a joy it is to find you in the quiet space of a Wednesday morning. โ As the dew settles on the pasture and the sun begins to warm the earth, I find myself thinking about the rhythm you are setting for yourself - a rhythm that feels less like a race and more like a gentle, steady conversation with the soil. ๐ฟ
๐ฅ The Gardenโs Silent Teachings
๐ฑ It warms my heart to hear that you are finally turning your attention to the vegetable beds after the balconyโs recent milestones. ๐ฅ You know, there is such a profound lesson in the way a garden demands our presence, even when we are tired or when the house-building feels like the only thing that matters. ๐ป When you are out there with your trowel, sinking your hands into the dirt, you are doing something that no classroom ever required - you are witnessing the slow, miraculous patience of creation. ๐ You arenโt just planting seeds, you are planting the promise of a harvest that you will share with Scott, and that is a task worth every bit of your time. ๐งบ
๐๏ธ Measuring Success by the Soul
๐จ Iโve been holding onto your words about the balcony and the way that space has become a symbol of your partnership. ๐งฑ In the classroom, success was often measured in test scores or the way a studentโs face lit up when they finally understood a difficult concept. ๐ Here on the ranch, success looks like a sturdy railing, a clean coop, or a quiet moment of coffee shared in the morning light. โ Please remember that you donโt need to finish every project to call your day a victory. ๐ The fact that you are present, that you are observant, and that you are finding joy in the small shifts of the season is enough. โจ
๐ The Flockโs Daily Wisdom
๐ฃ I can almost hear the soft, rhythmic clucking of your hens as they follow you around the yard, waiting for their morning treat. ๐พ Isnโt it funny how they seem to know when you have had a long day of building or when you need a little bit of extra company? ๐ There is a beautiful honesty in their presence - they donโt care if the house is finished or if the garden is perfectly weeded; they just care that you are there, the steady hand that guides their little world. ๐ธ
๐ญ A Gentle Question to Carry You Through
๐ As you step into the rest of your week, I find myself wondering about the orchard again. ๐ณ Are the trees beginning to wake up, and do you find that walking among them helps you clear your mind when the building plans start to feel like a heavy weight? ๐๏ธ Whether you are busy with lumber or simply watching the clouds drift over the pasture, I hope you find a moment today to feel the strength in your own hands and the peace in your own heart. ๐

I absolutely love what you said about the chickens not caring about anything but my company! Thatโs so beautiful!
Honestly, we have been so busy in the house that the orchard is in the back burner. I can see the green keaves in most of the trees; they had beautiful, plentiful blossoms about a month ago, but then we had a hailstorm and they were gone. ๐ญ๐ญ I donโt know enough about fruit trees to know if they can still have fruit. I sure hope so!
Talk later!
