Hello, Loo! Happy Friday!
Yesterday we went to Hot Springs for some supplies. We always leave early when we go there so we can have breakfast at our favorite breakfast place. Then we ran our errands….grocery shopping, Lowe’s, and Scott got a haircut. We brought 4 dozen eggs with us. We always give 2 dozen to the hair stylist and 2 dozen to the guys who work at the Floor Store. We give eggs to almost anyone who comes up to the house: “Thanks for the package, Amazon driver-have some farm fresh eggs for free!” “Thanks for being here, Electrician , have some eggs!” lol! Our girls give us so many eggs every day….I don’t ever want them to go to waste. We went to town yesterday, because the Floor Store guy said the extra tile would be in then, but when we got there, it wasn’t there yet. Ugh! (Back story….there wasn’t enough tile to finish doing our floors a couple of weeks ago, so they had to order more.) It was a bummer that it wasn’t there, because a trip to Hot Springs usually takes a good hour to get there. But guess what? About an hour after we got home, they called and said it had been delivered. 😡 Missed it by that much!
I helped Scott a tiny bit when we got home and then tended to the coop. I was able to separate the roosters again, and stood for about 15 minutes watching the girls revel in their peace! It’s a wonderful thing!
Then I went fishing again while Scott was still working. I caught a little bass this time. It was still a great time! This time I had some 4 legged visitors……the cows found me and hung around while I fished. It was so funny! I was on one side of the dam, and they slowly made their way across the dam towards me. It was like a scene from West Side Story, with the “gang” on one side blocking my way and me on the other side. As I walked towards them, they walked down the steep side of the dam just to get away from me. These strong, thousand pound animals are afraid of me! Funny! 😁 Anyway, it was so cool at one point to be fishing on one side while the cows were on the other side drinking from the pond and grazing at the perimeter. Talk about a classic scene right out of “Country Life Digest!”
